We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer with deep technical expertise, practical security knowledge, and an entrepreneurial mindset to drive incubation projects across diverse technologies, leveraging the latest in AI advances. Microsoft Defender for Cloud is a cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) designed to protect cloud-based applications running in all major cloud providers. Microsoft Defender for Cloud secures cloud applications from code-to-cloud by unifying development security operations (DevSecOps) at the code level, cloud security posture management (CSPM) to surface and prevent breaches and cloud workload protection platform (CWPP) to identify, alert and block real-time cyber-attacks worldwide.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

Act as a founding engineer in multiple incubation projects, driving business-critical initiatives that will define the future of Microsoft Security.
Rapidly ramp up and experiment with new technologies and domains, building on the latest AI services in Azure, applying strong technical judgment to de-risk ideas and validate opportunities.
Translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical requirements, KPIs, priorities, and deliverables.
Collaborate closely with engineering peers, security researchers, product managers, and partners across Microsoft to accelerate innovation.
Influence technical direction, provide mentorship, and contribute to shaping Microsofts cloud and enterprise security innovation roadmap.

Proactively acts as the voice of the customer/partner and internal communities leveraging relevant insights from feedback tools and systems. Proactively identifies and/or translates customer/partner problems into industry solutions. Drives self and guides other team members to focus on customer/partner experience through efficient delivery and ensuring a seamless and connected customer experience. Anticipates, identifies, escalates, and mitigates blockers using appropriate tools. Delivers solutions in line with company methodologies, ensuring proven practices and patterns are followed. Proactively identifies and anticipates new cross-solution opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion at scale. Operates according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards throughout all sales stages/activities/tools of record. Leverages market insights and demand signals. Leads, mentors, and may assemble virtual teams using knowledge of Microsoft architectures and their context in the competitive landscape. Proactively identifies and anticipates gaps that enable solutions to scale across customers.

Executes work in compliance with industry and Microsoft guidelines and procedures. Leading core features design and implementation according to system architecture specifications and engineering requirements in collaboration with other groups in Microsoft.

Assessing security threats and develop design and mitigation strategies ensure the SW is highly secured.
