Job Description
Orbotech, a KLA Company, is looking for a strong technical, hands-on Electro-Optical engineer / Physicist.
In this role you will lead a physics development tasks on multidisciplinary machines for the PCB industry.
We are looking for high level optical engineer / physicist, who is passionate about making a significant impact, with a track record in product development, excels in technology leadership, hands-on and work in collaboration with other team members and groups.
SOW/ Key Role description
Design Optical systems and tolerances using ZEMAX. Specify optical components and modules such as Lasers, LEDs, Lenses, Optical filters, Cameras, Sensors, and Lens assemblies.
Create specification documents and work with vendors to design opto-mechanical and electro-optical modules. Follow up the design progress and provide progress reports.
Lead collaborated development of high-power UV exposure systems for the PCB industry as well as other optical modules.
Assemble and align tabletop optical components, build optical set-ups and perform tests in optical labs. Build automated optical test benches using LabView / Matlab tools.
Develop and document calibration methods for optical systems. Calibrate, test, and troubleshoot optical systems.
Integrate prototype systems onto machines, perform optical system function testing and performance validation.
Report and present test results to guide design decisions in multidisciplinary systems. Perform image and performance analysis using MATLAB / Python / Open-CV /etc.
Follow design processes with design reviews, parts procurement, perform first-article inspection, testing, prototype integration, and release.
Beta machines support, with travels to customers from time to time.
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Level Degree in Physics or Electro-Optics with at least 5 years work experience must (higher degree preferred).
An understanding of optics theory, especially illumination, imaging, and microscope systems - must
Experience with optical bench, subsystem, or system assembly and comfort with complex optomechanical alignment- must
Optical design experience with at least one of the following tools: CodeV, Zemax, or LightTools must
Experience with MATLAB / LabView / Python / Open-CV Strongly preferred
Familiarity with UV high power LEDs / laser diodes advantage.
Ability to travel to manufacturing and customer facilities as part of product development.
Self-driven, capable of independent tasks leading, with high teamwork capabilities.
