Responsibilities
Partner across multiple product groups to apply subject-matter expertise in distributed systems design practices, interactions between cloud technology layers and components, basic dependencies at scale, and the code that defines infrastructures.
Lead by example and mentors others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products.
Develop and evangelize insights, best practices, and standards that can be applied to improve system, platform, and/or product development and operations across the business.
Drive continuous improvements in the architecture, code, features, operations and comprehensive use scenarios of products by leveraging end-to-end technical expertise.
Make improvements to the product fundamentals and architecture, share knowledge and code, always looking for ways to make what we build useful to multiple teams and products. 
Demonstrates end-to-end expertise in distributed systems design, interactions between cloud technology layers.
Provide technical leadership in test maturity reviews, static analysis reviews, meetings, on-call rotations, and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.

Responsibilities
We are looking for a Software Engineer to help drive innovation and excellence. As an engineer on the team, you will improve services by leveraging some of the latest innovations in Microsoft software and Azure hardware. This is a dynamic role that involves both technical expertise and collaborative skills to contribute to the modernization and enhancement of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint's cloud services. Responsibilities include:

Working on services leveraging the latest technologies from Microsoft

Modernizing and optimizing services to improve scalability and reduce operating cost.

Partner with experts across geographic and organizational boundaries to make impactful changes to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

Adhere to modern engineering principles and practices, code reviews, and project management

Take on challenges of working with well-established, large-scale systems

Engage in project planning, work prioritization, and contribute to the project's roadmap and goals

Participate in governance activities, manage technical tasks, and ensure quality assurance through automated testing and integration validation

Share knowledge through mentorship and regular team interactions

Build functional and technical documentation, write unit and integration tests, and update Continuous Integration and Continuous Deliver (CI/CD) pipelines

Cloud Apps and Identity Research team is covering multiple SaaS based threat scenarios including Cloud Based Ransomware, Email and Files extortion, Business Email Compromise and related Nation State activity.

Responsibilities
Perform financial motivated attacker tradecraft research and threat landscape investigation across cloud-based attacks spanning permissions, identities, applications, and data.
Partner with engineers and data scientists in a geographically distributed team to deliver innovative new product capabilities.
Threat hunting to discover real world advanced attacks together with designing and implementing automated detection and hunting analytics combining alerts and signals across Microsoft Defender security products.
Contribute to active engagement with the security ecosystem through papers, presentations, and blogs.
Provide subject matter expertise to customers based on industry attack trends and product capabilities.
