As a Backend Engineer in the Nile group, youll build internal products and tools, used by thousands of Wix backend engineers. Our solutions and backend platforms, powers how Wix operates and evolves its production environment. Youll design and implement applicative infra tools that streamline the process of writing backend services at Wix, helping engineers deliver with confidence and speed.

In your day-to-day, you will:

Build scalable backend platforms that allow other backend engineers at Wix to easily create their backend services while focusing on their business logic

From idea to production, youll have full ownership; understand use cases and gather product requirements, design, code, alpha support, and ongoing maintenance

Collaborate closely with product managers and other backend engineers (our users) to bring ideas to life quickly and with quality. We focus on adoption and are committed to supporting our users

Improve our CDC (Change Data Capture) solutions, allowing for hundreds of Wix backend engineers to easily and rapidly migrate their data

At Wix our work model is hybrid with 4 days a week from our North Tel Aviv Campus and 1 day of remote work from home; please make sure this fits your preferences before moving forward

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Server Core team, you'll design and build scalable solutions for data storage and caching. In your day-to-day, you will:

Build and design datastore and cache solutions
Help, advise, and guide users to get the most out of our products
Work with internal Wix infrastructure teams
Collaborate with external suppliers like AWS

As a Backend Engineer, youll join a growing global team at Wix, shaping the future of eCommerce. Youll develop and maintain the core selling and order management capabilities for all Wix verticals. Working in a highly distributed, cutting-edge environment, youll play a central role in building scalable, resilient systems that handle millions of requests per minute. In your day-to-day, you will:


Build and maintain backend systems to process 1.5 million API requests and 400,000 events per minute
Design, implement, and optimize scalable and resilient systems with an API-first approach
Solve high-scale technical challenges in a distributed microservices environment (~100 microservices)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across the platform
Lead technical initiatives to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
Mentor and guide junior engineers to help them reach their full potential Strong communication skills in both Hebrew and English are required.


This position is primarily an in-person role, and candidates should be prepared to come to our Tel Aviv office 4 days a week, with 1 day working from home.
