Join the Cisco Silicon One team, driving the future of networking through cutting-edge silicon innovation.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a cross-disciplinary role that bridges traditional IT and advanced semiconductor development.
Youll be supporting the infrastructure that powers the development of Ciscos world-class silicon devices.
With the feel of a startup and the resources of a global tech leader, Silicon One offers a dynamic and impactful work environment.
Your Impact
Bridge the gap between Ciscos central IT organization and the Silicon One engineering teams.
Collaborate with IT to provision and manage compute infrastructure, networked storage, and virtualized environments.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of compute, storage, and networking systems.
Develop and maintain custom automation scripts and tooling in Python and Perl to support semiconductor workflows.
Ensure security and access control policies are enforced across systems.
Partner with silicon development teams to understand evolving needs and improve infrastructure efficiency.
Support engineers with debugging of infrastructure and EDA tool-related workflow issues.
Own infrastructure-related data analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge sharing across the organization.
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Completion of relevant IT training or certifications in server management, networking, and security (e.g., CISO, networking fundamentals).
Basic familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Linux systems, ideally including system administration responsibilities.
Practical experience with managing compute and storage infrastructure in high-performance or technical environments.
Strong scripting skills in Python and Perl.
Excellent problem-solving ability and the capacity to work effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IBMs Spectrum LSF or other job scheduling systems.
Knowledge of NetApp NAS storage and NFS performance tuning.
Understanding of HDL workflows (Verilog, synthesis, simulation).
Experience with LDAP, Perforce, MySQL/MariaDB, or building dashboards.
Previous exposure to cloud compute environments and automation.
Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
Familiarity with EDA tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens) and semiconductor development workflows.
