Job Overview
Join the QuickBooks STS team as a as a Backend (Hands-on) Engineering Senior Tech Lead!
In this role youll utilize your skills to help develop and maintain critical backend systems, and be part of a team that creates innovative product and platform, helping small business to get paid faster.
The product is built with the newest technologies, at the heart of QuickBooks.
As part of the work you will collaborate closely with other teams and be part of world class platform, at high scale.
Responsibilities
You will contribute by designing and implementing new features and enhancements.
You will seek to improve performance by refactoring existing services and flows
You will mentor more junior team members and help them learn and progress professionally.
You will collaborate with various stakeholders - product management, analysts, data engineers and more.
You will commit to team success and positive team dynamics.
You will represent the team in the technical aspect during discussions and architecture roundtables
You will serve as the immediate go-to person within the team for any tech-related issue or discussion
Youll be a good listener, while also having strong opinions on what is right

Requirements: You have a Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
You have at least 10 years of active experience in OOP software development:
You have Hands-on experience developing applications using Spring/SpringBoot framework and relational DBs, Unit and Integration testing, AWS cloud env and service.
You have a good systems architectural grasp
You have experience with both unit and integration tests
You are knowledge and experienced with AWS cloud environment and services
You have experience in driving distributed systems large-scale end-to-end
You share deep appreciation for clean and well-documented code
You are self-motivated, proactive and able to multitask
You have excellent English, both oral and written
Youre passionate about your work and you have a desire to push boundaries
You demonstrate a great can-do approach, creativity and learning mindset
Bonus points:
Familiarity with Kubernetes or similar containerized frameworks
You have an interesting hobby or great sense of humor
cloud, k8s, java, optional kotlin/python, scripting
CI/CD, monitoring tools
databases: sql, nosql -> preferable: Postgres, dynamodb
