We're looking for a DataOps Engineer to join the DataOPs team of the Grow division of Unity.

The team is in charge of the operational stability, performance and cost of data infrastructures that serve either users (within or outside Unity) and applications (to transfer data between applications). The main technologies we're working with are Druid, Spark Structured Streaming, Iceberg, Trino, Airflow and Aurora RDS.

As a team we put a lot of focus on reducing the cost and improving the performance of our data services hosted on the cloud.

We work on both AWS and GCP clouds, and our most important data infrastructures run on k8s, either on AWS EKS or on GCP GKE.

The role requires to make these data infrastructures as stable, cheap and performant as possible.

The short term success is be able to maintain all the above services as an on-call.

The long-term success is to participate in the development of the Druid and Streaming services and improve their stability, cost and performance.

The impact on the team will be to increase the impact of the team on the data infrastructures within Grow.

What you'll be doing

Improve stability of Druid, Streaming, Iceberg, Trino, Mysql infrastructures
Participate in the on-call rotation of these infra
Focus on monitoring, cost reduction and performance improvements
Develop scripts in python
Work in collaboration with customers of our infra

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced DevOps Engineer with at least 4 years of experience to join our dynamic and growing team.
The ideal candidate will bring a depth of technical knowledge, combined with strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive, self-motivated attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline and automate software development, testing, and deployment processes
Implement and optimize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies and tools
Identify, analyze, and resolve work process issues to improve operational efficiency
Adapt to the rapid pace of technological changes and learn new tools and technologies as needed
Share knowledge and expertise with team members and wider community through mediums like Wikis, Blogs, Meetups, Trainings, Podcasts etc

You'll play a key role in deploying, maintaining, enhancing, and scaling up our high-scale, mission-critical data center production environment, which is essential to our SASE solution. Your responsibilities will include investigating complex production issues across network, OS, Virtualization, Cloud interconnectivity, and hardware components. You'll also focus on improving system resiliency and monitoring tools, as well as automating methods and procedures to streamline operations and boost stability. Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and deploy the organization's data center infrastructure.
Utilize scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to deploy, scale, configure, and update Data Center equipment, encompassing servers, storage, switches, and firewalls.
Monitor network and system performance, detect bottlenecks or connectivity issues, and implement necessary solutions.
Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to guarantee network security, uphold data integrity, and adhere to industry best practices and regulatory standards.
