Position Summary
We are looking for a Unity Team Lead to join our R&D department and take ownership of a cross-functional team developing core features for one of SciPlays top-performing games. In this role, youll manage a team of both client-side (Unity) and server-side engineers, providing hands-on technical leadership and mentoring to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality game features.
You will be at the heart of development, contributing code, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving both the technical and people aspects of team growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a hybrid team of Unity and backend developers, fostering collaboration and individual growth.
Oversee the team's deliverables, ensuring high-quality and timely releases aligned with product goals.
Collaborate closely with product managers, project managers, game designers, QA, and other tech leads to plan, develop, and deliver scalable game features.
Guide estimations, task breakdowns, and sprint planning with accountability and transparency.
Perform code reviews and uphold best practices in code quality, architecture, and performance.
Identify opportunities to improve team processes, development workflows, and overall efficiency.
Remain technically hands-on, contributing code and architectural guidance where needed.
Requirements: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Unity (C#) in mobile game development.
2+ years of proven experience leading engineering teams, including both client and server developers.
Strong understanding of mobile game development lifecycles, architecture, and optimization.
Deep knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
Proven ability to manage team dynamics while staying actively involved in coding and technical decisions.
Experience working in agile, cross-functional environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
