The Kusto team builds Microsofts big data interactive analytics service Azure Data Explorer, that powers Microsoft big data analytics products and is used extensively to operate many other Microsoft services and products.

We are looking for a highly skilled and driven Principal Software Developer Engineer to join the Kusto engine team, the backbone of Microsofts telemetry and analytics infrastructure powering Azure Data Explorer and Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Intelligence. This role is ideal for a technical leader who thrives on solving complex distributed systems challenges and driving innovation in large-scale data processing.
Responsibilities
Extensive experience in building and scaling distributed systems or data platforms.
Deep understanding of query engines, storage architectures, and performance tuning.
Strong coding skills in C#, C++, or similar systems-level languages.
Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and deliver high-impact results.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

The Microsoft specialized clouds - Edge AI group is responsible for bringing AI to customers that want to manage their AI workload on premises using Azure Arc technologies. Working on the edge appliances requires the team to work across various hardware configurations, optimize AI for different hardware categories, connect AI to data sources in order to provide the right context for the AI to the customers business needs and more.
