Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve SOC software modeling and other software tools.

Responsibilities
Drive technical sales with decision makers using demos and PoCs to influence solution design and enable production deployments.
Lead hands-on engagementshackathons, code-with sessions, and architecture & technical workshopsto accelerate adoption of Microsofts developer tools and cloud platforms.
Build trusted relationships with developers and platform leads as well as AI decision makers to co-design secure, scalable architectures and solutions
Resolve technical blockers and objections, collaborating with engineering to share insights and improve products.
Maintain deep expertise in one of the following:
Software Solutions Engineer: GitHub, Visual Studio, AI-assisted dev tools, Foundry SDK, CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-native development (APIs, containers, microservices)
Data Solution Engineer: Analytics Portfolio: Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, DW, real-time intelligence, BI, Copilot), Azure Databricks, Purview Data Governance and Azure Databases: SQL DB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, Maintain and grow expertise in on-prem EDW (Teradata, Netezza, Exadata), Hadoop & BI solutions.
Infrastructure Solution Engineer: Cloud migration (Windows, SQL, Linux, PostgreSQL, app workloads), resiliency, security, and compliance. Deepen knowledge of enterprise apps (SAP, Oracle) and Azure VMware Solution (AVS).
AI Applications Solution Engineer: AI Foundry & App architecture (Agentic AI framework, TensorFlow, Pytorch, Responsible AI) and App architecture/cloud native dev (APIs, containerization, microservices, event-driven). Maintain and grow expertise in AI Management & Security (Gen AI Ops, Sentinel, orchestrator, monitoring).
Represent Microsoft in customer forums and technical communities through thought leadership.

Proactively identifies and/or translates customer/partner problems into industry solutions. Drives self and guides other team members to focus on customer/partner experience through efficient delivery and ensuring a seamless and connected customer experience. The Azure Networking Security Research (ANSR) team is part of the Networking Security organization within Azure. Azure Networking Security is responsible for the development of several network security products, as well as for the security of Microsoft's physical and virtual production networks. As part of this mission, ANSR is charted with exposing critical security gaps in core systems across Azure (not just networking), driving Azure-wide security initiatives, and several company-wide network security objectives. The challenge of maintaining the most reliable, secure and resilient cloud is immense, and ANSR is a unique contributor, creating security excellence from within the Azure organization.

We are looking for a Principal Security Architect to work with a high-impact team of security researchers and lead cross-organizational strategic efforts. In this role, you will apply your security expertise to identify new risks, work with engineering leaders to offer solutions, drive multi-team efforts for improving Azures security posture, and communicate to senior leadership alternatives and recommendations. You will work with high-performing security researchers, translating research findings into wide impact across Azure and the entire company.
